West Midlands Green slams Birmingham Airport Expansion on BBC Politics Show

Birmingham Airport Expansion - No Thanks!

Tom Harris represented the Green Party on the BBC 1 Politics Show in the West Midlands argued against extending the runway and using £25m of tax payers' money to sweeten the deal. The plan is too lengthen the runway by 400 metres that will mean diverting the busy A45. This plan was hatched several years ago in a very different world.

Tom in debate with a Mrs Lynda Waltho Labour MP for Stourbridge- explained patiently why tax payers money should not be used to bail out a privately run airport for a project so damaging to the environment and makes so little financial sense.

£25 million of hard earned tax payers money should be more wisely be spent on helping West Midlands firms and workers survive the recession explained Tom much to the dismay of the pro airport expansion lobby including Mrs Waltho MP who saw no problem with the tax payer bailing them out!
