In some parts of Birmingham the average life expectancy in Social Housing and Council Tax band A is only 69.5 years old - Women fare a bit better expecting not to die until they are 76.9 years old.
These life expectancy rates are replicated in towns and cities across the West Midlands region and are clearly linked to poverty, poor housing and working conditions.
Yet instead of trying to improve conditions and life expectancy and quality of life for the ordinary person, these well healed (heeled) politicians - who themselves are protected by large pensions provided by the taxpayers - say ‘WORK TILL YOU DROP'!
The Green Party believes that pensioners should be valued for the working life time of contributions to the state and be permitted to continue working if they wish - but have a right to a decent-poverty free retirement from the existing age of retirement.
